Question 1

Does an Xplora kids smartwatch need a smartphone to work?

Accepted Answer

No. Xplora watches have a built-in SIM card and their own phone number, so they connect directly to the cellular network. Your child can call, message and share location without carrying a phone. Parents manage settings through the Xplora Guardian app on their own smartphone.

Question 2

Which Xplora smartwatch is right for my child's age?

Accepted Answer

XGO3 is designed for first adventures at ages 4–7, with a simple interface and playful designs. X6Play is built for growing kids aged 7–11 who want more personalisation while keeping the same parent-controlled safety features.

Question 3

Who can call or message my child's watch?

Accepted Answer

Only contacts approved by a parent in the Xplora Guardian app can call or message the watch. Unknown numbers are blocked, which keeps communication limited to trusted family members and friends.

Question 4

How do GPS tracking and safe zones work?

Accepted Answer

The watch shares its real-time location with the Guardian app. Parents can create safe zones such as home or school and receive notifications when their child arrives at or leaves those areas.

Question 5

What is School Mode on an Xplora watch?

Accepted Answer

School Mode lets parents schedule quiet hours so the watch limits distracting functions during class time, while essential safety features remain available.

Question 6

What data plan does an Xplora watch use?

Accepted Answer

Xplora Connect is one simple monthly plan that includes unlimited talk, text and data, with no hidden fees, no activation costs and no cancellation fees. An annual prepayment option offers additional savings.
